Dug up a picture of a man in the 66th Italian Air Mobile Infantry. 3 days into a 16-day mission, he is displaying an extreme case of the "Thousand Yard Stare." As he attempts to locate the source of falling rockets, in Bala Murghab- Afghanistan.

I was there when this picture was taken and worked with him. It's too bad you didn't get the background data of the soldier correct or his unit. It was taken in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan on August 9th 2008 after 3 days of fighting. We had another 13 days of constant fighting left. He is a member of the 66th Italian Air Mobile Brigade "Friuli."
The soldier was staring into the east when the photo was taken because we were being attacked with rockets and he was trying to find the point of origin from where the rockets were being launched. His blue eyes further defines the pin-pointed pupils.
If you'd like, look up the 66th online. They have a small museum in Italy and they may be pleased to see your work. If possible, could you possibly work some adjustments to your data. The 66th and the US Army ARSIC - West were the two units that were fighting the Taliban and other insurgents in that area. They lost a LOT of men doing so. I would be grateful if you would honor them by editing Italian Special Forces to 66th Italian Air Mobile Infantry. They are some damn good men.
